Work duties: Write C/C++ code.  Maintain offsite backups (ie keep a zipdisk in my car).  Find ways to implement 3rd party techology into common uses/games. Research and design better ways to implement current applications to use 3rd party tech.

Other duties: spend lots of time doing chats/net meetings. Find out how other people are doing cool Digital Personnel-type stuff. Learn more about MSSalt and try to use it to come up with interesting solutions. Grab code from the web that already does what we need, rather than re-inventing the wheel.  Research solutions to weird windows/MFC problems.

How he describes it:  Okay, so it's not game programming. But if I've got to do non-game stuff, digital personnel stuff doesn't suck.  Get to learn lots of neat hacker stuff,, and my tasks are varried enough that I can use lots of stuff I know and exercise my brain. To top that all off, I get five bucks an hour, all the Coca Cola products I can drink, and all the pride I can swallow.
